The 2022 Yamaha Tricity 125 scooter has been updated for Europe

In Europe this year 2022 Yamaha Tricity 125 three wheeled scooter has been updated. Originally designed for urban travel, the Tricity 125 has been on the market since 2014 and, like its larger three-wheeler sibling Yamaha Nikken, has followed a religion.

New for 2022 is the Euro 5 compliant 125cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine with Yamaha Blue Core engine efficiency design, engine stop-start and variable valve actuation (VVA). Feed by EFI, Trinity’s power output is claimed to be 9 hp at 7,500 and comes with 11.7 Nm of torque at 7,250 rpm.

The Tricity 125 uses an LMW (Leaning Multi Wheel) Ackerman steering with dual front wheels to increase stability and traction at the front end. The comfort and stability of the ride is enhanced with a newly designed chassis while the rear modified twin shock absorber provides a high quality ride.

The twin comes with a 220mm diameter front brake disc and a single 230mm unit Yamaha Unified Braking System (UBS), or combined braking, where front and rear brakes are proportionately activated during stops to increase stability and safety. The Tricity 125 weighs in at 156kg, carrying 7.2 liters of fuel in the tank.

The seat height is set at 780mm and at the bottom of the seat, large enough storage space can be found for a single full-face helmet and it is complemented by a storage cube for miscellaneous items inside the front cowl. Inside the cockpit, a monochrome LCD device panel has Bluetooth connectivity to the rider’s smartphone using the Yamaha MyRide app.

Other riding amenities include LED lighting, keyless start and a large footboard area for rider accessibility and a large range of riding positions. The Yamaha Trinity 125 is available in three color options in Europe – Icon Gray, Matte Gray and Milky White.
