BMW Malaysia has revised prices for 3 series including 320i Sport, 330i M Sport, 330e M Sport and 330Li M Sport. On the flipside, the M340i xDrive offers a significant price reduction, well below the previously asked price near RM400k.
Before going any further, the prices mentioned here are on-the-road without insurance, with a standard two-year, unlimited-mileage warranty. Prices also factor in ongoing sales and service tax exemptions effective until June 30 this year. All variants of the 3 series sold here are locally combined (CKD), except for the M3 contest (with or without xDrive), so they benefit from a 100% SST discount.
At the time of writing, the 320i Sport currently goes for RM233,269.43, which is RM505.78 higher than RM232,763.65 on the price list as of January 12, 2022. The same is true of the 330i M Sport, which is RM274,914.24 plus RM702.22, as well as the 330Li M Sport, which is RM354.46 plus RM280,518.68.
The plug-in hybrid 330e M Sport has significantly increased from RM1,343.65 to RM256,192.60. The 3 Series, the only M Performance version of the M340i xDrive, now goes for RM351,749.41, which is RM41,484.72 less than the RM393,234.13 price in January.
Comparing with the latest price list from January 2022, we noticed that the increases in 320i Sport, 330i M Sport and 330Li M Sport seem to be SST-related, since retail prices with SST are no different from January.
However, when we released a further price list on July 14, 2021, we discovered that the price of these three variants had previously been increased by RM3,000 for the 330i M Sport and 330Li M Sport, while the 320i Sport increased. By RM2,000. It should be noted that even before the 320i Sport, the price of RM4,000 increased in January 2021, while the SST-less price of the 330e M Sport fell to RM1,644.18 at that time.
This is also true of the 330e M Sport, where its retail price with SST has increased from RM5,000 from July 2021 to January 2022 and what it has now has increased to RM8,863 again. Meanwhile, the price of M340i xDrive with SST increased from RM4,000 from July 2021 to January 2022, but following the latest price list it decreased to RM50,000. BMW Malaysia has confirmed that there is no change in the specifications of the 3 series variants mentioned here.
