Remember last year’s Proton Saga Night concept by MIMOS design chief Saharuddin Busari? Well, he’s back in it again, this time with a brand new three-dimensional rendering of the next-generation Perodua Mavi.
Like many of his creations, Saharuddin prefers a smoother exterior design with as few sharp lines as possible, inspired by some of Volvo’s latest models as well as the Mk8 Volkswagen Golf GTI.
The latter is evident in the styling of the full-width LED DRL, which Volkswagen has begun to incorporate across its model range. It has a strong fascia and a captivating appearance, which is further strengthened by the huge twin-five spoke tri-colored wheels and rear arches.
Other distinctive features include a thin side mirror (with chrome accents!) With integrated LED indicator strip, flash door handles, quick-racking A-column, a near-flat roof line and a nice taut ramp.
Take a closer look at the rear glass – it actually bends towards the C-pillar, creating the effect of a smooth coating that is rarely seen in production vehicles. It is impractical and expensive to make and / or replace, but still great to look at.
The styling of LED taillights seems to have been inspired by Volkswagen Group cars, even like Renault. There are no drainage tips, not even decorating. The finishing touch includes the Peruvian script and the “Myvi 2022” badge on the tailgate.
If you are interested in the interior, do not worry, it will come to the next stage. For now, all we can see from the video are three-tone leather seat upholstery, a full red dashboard with twin center air vents, red steering wheel, ambient lighting, an integrated infotainment display and full digital instrumentation.
