Mercedes-AMG to unveil WillIM ‘The Flip’ – with one-point revised GT 4-door

The cat has officially come out of the bag. Meet The Flip, a Mercedes-AMG model designed in collaboration with American rapper (real name William Adams). The car was named WILL.I.AMG, and the 47-year-old sought the help of West Coast Customs to implement the project.

Now, no matter how you feel about car design, know that it was created to raise money to help finance students from disadvantaged communities. The goal is to give them access to STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) education, which is expected to equip them with the skills needed for a future-oriented job and help them innovate.

Okay, get back in the car. It is based on the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-door coupe, in contrast to the GT, with the obvious design effect of the G-Class. Also known as the legendary SLS gallowing (split glass roof and vented bonnet; vents were originally on the side), as well as rear hinged doors, or more commonly suicide doors.

Almost every exterior panel is new. The grill has six horizontal slats, with a bear face with three-pointed stars in the center. The front bumper and quarter panels are brand new (and much wider than the stock), while the AMG lower bumper looks slightly retro. The huge retro-style block-sided wheels complete the look.

Speaking at the unveiling, Will Aime said: “I grew up in a ghetto. I grew up with hip hop. I saw the legendary hip hop artist rap about Mercedes, so owning a Mercedes has always been a dream. For many kids in the inner city, owning a Mercedes is a symbol of progress and progress. ”

“Now I have reached my goal and pushed even higher by rebuilding and creating my own vision of an AMG model. But I didn’t touch the engine, because AMG really makes the best engine. The story of the founders of AMG really inspires me and encourages me to collaborate with like-minded people who are constantly striving for improvement, ”he added.

Interested in seeing the complete transformation process? Okay, Automaker has filmed the whole journey, which will be aired in a six-part documentary series called ‘Drive’. It will premiere in Cannes during the 2022 Film Festival. The rapper will also launch a ‘Bear Witness’ collection, a limited edition range of clothing and accessories that can be purchased online.
