Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut gets his first prototype

If there’s a Koenigsegg that crosses the 300-mile hurdle, that’s it. If there is a Koenigsegg that would be the fastest car made by a Swedish automaker, so be it. Shortly after watching the Jesco Attack Dash break through the snow, Koenigsegg showed the car’s brother, the wingless and finally refined Absolute.

Designed to go as fast as possible, the company’s boss Christian von Koenigsegg said: “We spent thousands of hours calculating the CFD. We streamlined this car not only from an aerodynamic and design point of view, but also from a high-speed stability point of view. A remarkably low drag of just 0.278 Cd. “

The development model is made with graphite gray tang orange stripe. Remind us one day to ask a Christian if that color really refers to the chemical composition that was relentlessly advertised as a favorite drink of astronauts to children decades ago.

To be fair to aeronautics around the world, we should make it clear that this is an “extraordinary” low drag figure. Relative Scale. After all, cars looking to expand gallons or kWh of fuel do better; Lucid Air claims a drag coefficient of 0.21 cd, the current Mercedes-Benz S-Class is a 0.24. But Koenigsegg is far ahead of other hypercars. Hennessey states that its Venom F5 brings a drag coefficient of 0.39, the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ is 0.33 – 0.02 better than the standard Chiron in top speed mode – and quotes the figure of 0.279 for the SSC Tuatara. If these numbers are correct, Koenigsegg claims the Hypercar Arrow crown by 0.001 from the SSC. Probably just a coincidence.

Absolute’s interior almost completely mimics the attack, producing a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 at 1,600 hp and 1,107 lb-ft. Weight savings from changes such as the lack of a rear wing mean an absolute weight of 3,064 pounds compared to 3,131 pounds in an attack.

Koenigsegg did not give a timeline for when the customer unit would be ready, but it should not be long. The attack is expected to begin reaching customers this quarter.
