The nationwide Dodge Garage Chief Donut Maker contest ended this week with 173,500 applicants winning just one: Preston Patterson of North Carolina will be the brand’s ‘Never Lift’ campaign ambassador for the next two years, helping fans keep track of the brand and an electrifying performance. The Challenger gets the keys to the Hellcat to test and boot. A bad gig, isn’t it?
“I wanted to hand over the keys to a Dodge Challenger Hellcat from a kid who had a Dodge Viper poster on my bedroom wall, because my company car is out of my dreams,” Patterson said. “This is my first assignment as the main donut maker, 100% ready for it, and I look forward to representing Dodge and the Brotherhood of Muscle at some of this year’s epic autobiographical events, especially at Rodkill Nights this summer,” Patterson said.
Applications for the post were due in January. Contestants then had to submit a short promotional video in February. From these videos, Dodge judges selected 10 finalists to participate in a web series shot at Radford Racing School, where Patterson competed in a series of finals and eliminations until the crown of the head this week.
“After nearly four months of searching for our leading donut maker, we were amazed by our 10 finalists, and how each one was uniquely the best embodiment of the Dodge brand,” said Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis. “We tested our candidates both on and off the track and Preston never lifted, proving that he possessed the knowledge, character and drive to represent the Brotherhood of Muscle.”
