2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV shows features in video

Chevrolet has created a 90-second video flyby of its upcoming battery-electric Silverrado, with the Ultima-based pickup throwing many features to bridge the distant shores of work life and personal life. Most of the stats in the video were released when Chevy debuted the Silverrado EV in January, but there are a few new bits. The automaker says the four-wheel steering reduces the EV’s turning circle to 42.2 feet. We cannot say how much has improved; Probably about five to seven feet. That four-wheel steering system is supplied by ZF, and there’s a story about this system in the nugget that Chevy finally plans to give 24-inch wheels for electric Sylvie.

The video briefly shows an arrow camper top for the bed with a ladder mounted on top, referring to the “customizable accessory” inside, like a modular storage trunk. We still don’t know how big the accessory catalog will be. In the video, below the camper, we see a row of tools at the mounting points along the inner bed wall. It could be the Powerbase system, the GM version of Ford’s Pro Power Onboard for the F-Series. It will supply power up to 10.2 kW at 10 outlets and can be connected with a 240-volt outlet. When the bed is used for ordinary old hauling, the multi-flex midgate is lowered to create a nine-foot-long load space, with the extension of the multi-flex tailgate adding another leg.

Video features apply to retail RST trim, which will be fully loaded for the first year and cost 105,000 before destination. Work truck trim goes without many of these features, which makes it less expensive. WT will enter production in the spring of next year, RST in the autumn. See what’s coming up in the video above.
