Mercedes-Benz is celebrating AMG’s 55th birthday with a number of special models, the latest of which is a commemorative version of the CLA 45 sedan. Limited to 55 units for the American market, the version 55 model differs from the standard CLA 45 and includes a specific design and a long list of standard features inside and out.
A. Until 2022 and the firm, now called Mercedes-AMG, operates as a full-fledged sub-brand that has built several cars from scratch. CLA 45 version 55 Cosmos celebrates this tradition with black metallic paint, AMG-themed decals under the door, and 19-inch cross-spoke wheels.
Each version comes standard with the 55 model aerodynamics package, which adds a body kit that includes a front splitter and a trunk lid-mounted spoiler. AMG has added Knight Package and Knight Package II, which brings out the black exterior trim and an array of symbols.
Inside, passengers are used to black and red leather upholstery, while the driver is confronted with a microfiber-upholstered steering wheel with a “55” symbol. The logo is also displayed on the floor mats and the door seal plates are illuminated. But the changes end here.
While a 55-horsepower bump might be a perfect way to celebrate AMG’s 55th year, the version 55 is mechanically untouchable. Power comes from a turbocharged, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 382 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque. It rotates four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission attached to a pair of shift pedals. AMG quotes a four-second plane from zero to 60-mph.
Mercedes-AMG will begin shipping 55 units of the CLA 45 version 55 to the United States after 2023. There is no word yet on how they will be allocated, and pricing information has not yet been announced, although we do know that each will come with an indoor car cover. By the way, the regular-production 2022 Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 has a base price of $ 56,950 and a চার 1,050 destination charge.
