The 2022 Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Royal Enfield Meteor 350 have now officially launched in the Malaysian market, priced from RM23,500 and RM24,500 respectively. Prices do not include road tax, insurance and registration and bookings are now being taken under Malaysian distributor Didi Automotive, part of Didi Group, at Gasket Alley, Petaling Jar Royal Enfield (RE) flagship store.
The Royal Enfield Classic 350 is available in three variants with seven color choices, following the traditional RE styling, with the original 1931 Royal Enfield Bullet, and the design of the Bullet 350 has remained unchanged since 1948, with modern equipment and engineering updates. . Like its predecessor, the modern Classic 350 comes with a single-cylinder air-and oil-cooled power plant.
Feed by EFI and displacing the mill 346 cc, the Classic 350 is claimed to produce 19.1 hp at 5,250 rpm with 28 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. Power reaches the ground via a six-speed gearbox and chain final drive. The front is braked with a single 280 mm diameter brake disc with a bibre two-piston caliper and single-channel ABS while the rear wheel is closed with a mechanical drum brake.
The front suspension is paired with conventional telescopic forks while the rear end is propelled with a twin shock absorber with five-step preload adjustment. The seat height of the Classic 350 is set at 810 mm, where the weight of the whole package is 191 kg and the capacity of the fuel tank is 13.1 liters, rotating on the front and rear 19-inch wheels.
Meanwhile, the Meteor 350, which comes in three variants, has been given cruiser styling treatment with a low-slang seat set 760mm and a 349 cc displacement equipped with RE’s J-Series air- and oil-cooled single-cylinder mill. With an EFI-powered engine, the Meteor 350 gets 20.2 hp at 6,500 rpm and 27 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm, combined with a five-speed gearbox and chain final drive.
The front forks of the Meteor 350 are twin shock absorbers with a 41mm diameter telescopic unit, non-adjustable, rear six-step adjustable preload. With a 90% capacity 15-liter fuel tank, the Meteor 350 tipped the 191kg scale while inside the cockpit, a combination of digital LCD / analog instrument cluster comes with Bluetooth connection as well as a USB charging port.
Braking is done with a single hydraulic disc, a 300mm diameter unit with a two-piston floating caliper at the front, and a single-piston unit with a 270mm caliper at the rear, while two-channel ABS is the standard equipment. The Meteor 350 comes with a 19-inch wheel on the front, shod with 100/90 tubeless tires, while the back gets a 17-inch hoop wearing a 140/70 tire.
